Physician assistants, like physicians, are under the jurisdiction of the Office of Professional Medical Conduct, OPMC, which is a division of the Department of Health of the State of New York. And, like physicians, physician assistants must take very seriously any contact from OPMC. You should absolutely be represented by a lawyer because what may seem to you to be a meaningless issue, may in fact be something very serious that could put your license in jeopardy. In my view, there are no “minor issues” when it comes to inquires from OPMC.
